Assuming you have the money to back up any casino credit is there an advantage to carrying cash with you vs. using casino credit and paying it back at the end of the session?

If they believe you to be an advantage player there is nothing you can do if they cancel your credit line.
My triproll to Vegas might be $25,000 and I see no reason to carry that much cash around with me, so I have credit lines at two casinos. Also, my bank has branches in Vegas which once proved helpful when a casino canceled my credit account. Since that time I tend to play more conservatively at these casinos and also play less there.

One thing: I have never had a problem taking out a big marker and giving the casino limited play, cashing the chips and going to other casinos and playing big. Seems once the line got established and the markers redeemed before leaving, they have never questioned the light play.

Dumb question, but what's the smallest level of play I should have to even consider getting casino credit?

I'm not a believer in it at all. Too much info goes to the casino. No casino has ever gotten my real SSN and only a few have gotten my real name. Giving fake info to get a marker runs into criminal territory.

Last year the GN eliminated by credit line after I orginally made reservations to stay there and then changed to another casino but played a session there during trip. This is unusual, but an Exeutive Host noticed me playing at the casino and shortly thereafter I attempted to use my credit line. That's a problem when you get to close to some Hosts who know you on a first name basis. I always carry cash but left most in room safe and ran short during session at the Nugget. Really not a problem especially now since the place has turned into a grind out joint. With the exception of the high roller room, with a $25 min 6D most of the time the place dosen't have a good game left.
