In reading various posts, there seems to be much concern for the advice being offered to the newbie to card counting. Not being a seasoned message board participant, I hope I am not out of line by offering my humble experience to new card counters on this site.
That being said, my advice to anyone considering playing blackjack in any casino is to first invest in this software. The price is well within the reach of anyone playing at a five dollar minimum table.
The value of the software is that you can simulate any possible outcome without risking a dime. The house advantage against a poor player is so great that the cost of the software is, by comparison, minimal.
You must of course believe in the law of probabilites. If you would rather make decisions based on personal experiences and short run results, then save your money. You will lose far more at the tables, however.
The individuals on this site that donate their time to help newbies understand what they are up against should be appreciated and commended. Frequently, however, they are challenged and misunderstood. The friction often requires them to state their views even more clearly, which is of great help to those who might not have the background of a mathamatician.
I am not in any way affiliated with, nor derive any financial benefit from, Qfit software or any other blackjack related software.
The reason for this post is because I firmly believe that the best investment of time or money for a newbie blackjack player would be to first invest in the above software, or a like product. MM
