Going To Reno This Weekend And Are Looking For Ways To Cover My Play.the One Thing That Make Us Look Like Counters Is The Way We Beat.so What If I Bet Two Units At The Top Of Ever Deck And Then Drop Back To One Untill The Count Moves Up,and The Bet Accordingly.would This Help With Cover And Also Wash Its Self Out.also In Playing Single Decks Is It Better To Play With Just One Other Person Or With More.

It all depends

I just got back from at week there myself. If you're playing red, I wouldn't sweat it to much unless you have a PC staring at you. If you're going to be there during a weekday, you DEFINATELY have to check out the Happy Hour at the Siena from 10-11 A.M. M-F. We have discussed this pretty well in another thread entitled "Happy Hour...." It's like taking candy from a baby. If you want the least heat on SD, take a stroll over to Fitzgereld's(Next to El Dorado) They could care less (at least for the first hour). The Circus is pretty loose, same thing at the Legacy(green is a different story). There are also some good games in Sparks, ala Rail City(but they're anti-chimp) and Ascuaga's. Back to your question...I do use that tactic when I detect "heat" and found, in SD, that I can ramp right in to a higher max. bet if the first hand is a winner and the count increases. Just vary it randomly and it shouldn't hurt you too much, but be sure your are sufficiently BR'd from that extra wager.

And Moreover..

About your question regarding # of players. In SD play either heads up or one other. Never play SD with more than two other players. DD you can play with two others. If you're new to counting the extra player at the table will give you the extra few seconds to make the proper calculations. It's more important when starting out ,to play your hands and bet right than to increase your hands/hr.
