question with regards to 77 v T

so on another forum the noted blackjack authority Don S argues that you should surrender 77 v T at a lower index than say 95 v T because, presumably, of the EOR of the 7 on this decision. We're talking about 6 deck here. Do you agree with his assertion that 77 v T should be surrendered at TC 2 instead of TC 3? If you do, when should 77 v T be early surrendered 1? And further, if you have two hands and one is 77 v T and the other is 95 v T, would you surrender them both at TC 2? What if you saw a 77 hand last round, would you then surrender your 95 v T at TC 2 this round?

You're asking for people's opinions about an index number? You don't ask someone, "What's your opinion about 2 + 2?" Check Wong's Appendix A4 in Pro BJ.

Early surrendering 14 v. T is basic strategy. Index is -1.

If the index for LS 9,5 v. T is +3, why would you surrender at +2? You don't base decisions on two cards you see on the last round of a six-deck shoe; you base the decisions on all of the cards you've seen up until that point.

Do you treat 77 like any other 14 or do you (late) surrender it at +2 instead of +3?

'In multi-deck, you surrender (Hi-Lo) 14 (not a pair) vs. 10 at +3. If 7,7, it's +2.

Presumably your argument for this is that 77 is a special case precisely because those 7s are so desperately needed to make 21. So my question is, if you are playing two hands and dealt 95 as well as 77 vs a face card, and the true count is +2, would you surrender both 14s or only the 77? Or hit both of them?

Now let's say next hand after this one you are dealt again two fourteens against a face. This time it is J4 and 95 vs a queen. The preceding hand you had a 77. The true count is still +2. Would you again surrender your fourteens or would you hit them?"

To now fully answer your question

The answer is because your other hand is a 77.
