Quick Question

I've been playing poker at the Cannery for a couple of months and started playing a little blackjack. Mainly for fun but I'm going to start learning it seriously. I have a little bit of a reputation in the poker room and as a good poker player and I haven't talked to many people. I think it makes the blackjack guys suspicious of me. The game is an automatic shuffler though. I've haven't been playing basic strategy completely. Think I'm just being paranoid? Regardless I'm not playing blackjack there anymore. Just don't want to be on a suspect list befoer I even start.

Thanks

If you mean continuous shuffler where cards are reinserted after every couple hands, then have no fear. You can't count it, and the casino can reliably take your money.

If you mean automatic shuffler in the the decks (or shoe) are still dealt out normally, but shuffled by machine in between (instead of by a human), then it is beatable by counting.

Once you learn to count, then I'd worry about heat.
