Rare Opportunity

Well, I got to hang out with Flash and TakinFromTheIndians for a bit! What a rare and fantastic opportunity to be able to trade notes with other professional players. What truly floored me was when Flash knew exactly what my counting system was to include all the ramifications and parameters of it, which goes considerably beyond any hi/lo number line system. The more I talked with him, the more I realized that I was talking to someone at least as knowledgeable as me and possibly even 10 times more so.

This being the case, I babbled on about all the things that only another professional would comprehend and I also pummeled him with questions and got some of his personal perspectives on some of the things I have been researching with regard to shuffle tracking/clump tracking, myths and "urban legends", something I have referred to as "rubber band theory", specifics of quality of games in locations he has played in and I haven't, etc.

I brought some cards with me and did the little demonstration that I do to "stun and amaze" people in which I flip through a few decks and then tell you what the last 10-15 cards are prior to flipping them over. He showed me a few high tech things after that with the cards.

All in all, it was interesting and informative. You have to understand, I have been at this so long, for so many years that I have never met anyone in person that has a knowledge base and mathematical analysis level of the game equal to mine, much less more than mine... I only get to read about them!

Sounds like a great time, I am glad you met up. It is nice to meet other AP's who are not unduly paranoid and will talk and enjoy the company.
