Just some background before my question.
Went to Vegas earlier in the year, bought BJBBII and Kevin Blackwoods book before that trip. Was still nailing down BS when I arrived but I am a recreational player who is starting to get the bug. Since then I am gathering a small blackjack library. I am returning to Vegas later in the year and by then would like to do some counting.
Think I am going to use Red 7 but with Renzeys KISSIII index tables. Knew this would be ok after reading this thread.
The reasoning behind this is that I started counting using KISSI but found HiLo much easier with all the cards that cancel out. Therefore I started counting HiLo. Personally I think KISSIII is much easier to actually count rather than KISSI but I did not read that far before beginning my practice and choosing HiLo.
I don't think I'll have enough time to practice balanced counting, so am looking to hit the strip with an unbalanced count. I find it easier to count the red sevens rather than black 2s only because I was practicing HiLo previously and am used to counting all 2s as +1.
Is there anyone else out there who has tried counting in this manner? I'm sure I can't be the only one.
As I said, I was primarily a recreational player and am just looking to improve over time. No point in jumping to a more difficult count if I can't commit the time and end up making things worse.
