Renzey article on soft doubles

What an excellent article. I am really amazed how often you see those hands doubled which shouldn't be. The more dumb plays that are made the better it is for us AP's.

A nice addition to it would be how many AP's double hands that are correct BS or index plays but do not satisfy the Kelly Criterion for placing an extra bet. The closest play is A2 vs. 5 (S17) and the edge for doubling is so small it doesn't justify putting another bet at risk with an even count. The dAdvantage/dCount tends to be very small for soft doubles so I'm not sure if it's a good play even at slight positive counts.

would you be so kind as to explain about how it is that there is some corrrect BS or index plays but that do not satisfy the Kelly Criterion for placing an extra bet? isn't this like saying Basic Strategy in these instances is wrong?
or perhaps list a source where this scenerio can be read up on?
is this a risk averse strategy?

best regards,
