Yesterday I witnessed one of the stupidest moves at the casino yesterday.

Count: -9, 2D left, 6D total.

A big guy sits down at the anchor and gets 88 VS Dealer A and 16 VS Dealer A (playing two hands), while I get 20 and my other two friends both get 18.

Me: Stay
Friend: Stay
Other Friend: Stay

Big guy:
-"Okay guys, i'm going to maybe risk some of my own money, but i'll save the table. Just watch this."

16 V Dealer A -- Stand
Split 8's Getting a 5 on the first hand -- Hits and picks up a 3 - Stands
Gets a King on the second hand making 18 -- This is where it gets crazy.

He looks at us again and lets out a little groan type thing.
-"You kids are lucky i'm risking myself to get you a win"

Hits on the 18 getting a 5. Bust.

Dealer pulls a Jack.


If you ever want to clear an entire table, just do what he did. Fortunately the small bets were out then.

So what was the next cards? The presumed correct play of Hit 16 (gets 5), splits 88 gets 3 on the first DD to 21 (the idiot now has 2 21's), draws a 5 on the 2nd 8, and busts with dealer's Jack. Thats 2 21's (one DD 21) and a busted 23.
