Nice to have blackjack in the north metro, finally!
Here's the scoop. Pen is somewhat dealer dependent, usually about 1.5/6 from what I saw, I did glance at a shoe that had deep penetration, but that was on a $25 table.
Mid Shoe entry is restricted to flat betting at table minimum. When I was there on a Saturday night, there was no single regular blackjack table with a limit below $10. The table limit signs were all yellow, would be nice if they were color coded as they are also kind of hard to read.
They did have this $5 "bonus BJ" game which required a 50 cent ante for each hand... I didn't take a very close look at it.
It was pretty much all 6 deck from what I saw.
Typical rules, H17, DOA, DAS. I wish I would have asked about RSA, but I would be surprised if they didn't allow it, as most casinos in MN now allow that. Double the table min required for playing 2 hands, triple for 3.
Judging from the Mid Shoe entry rule, I am going to speculate that there is potential for heat. I didn't stay long, I had one great shoe and left.
All things being equal I'd prefer to play at Mystic or Grand Casino any night, but it is so close I will probably spend more time there. More or less the same as Canterbury's, which I only play when I am there for horse races, because otherwise I'll just go down the road to Mystic Lake's vastly superior game.
