Single and Double deck spreads

I'm going to be hitting Vegas shortly and was wondering what are good benchmark standards for bet spreads in single and double deck? As an east coast counter I only play against 6 and 8 deck. I assume 1-4 for single deck and about 1-8 double deck? At what point does the heat start up? Once I get some advice here I will run my own sims to fine tune it for ror. I am a very aggressive spreader so I don't mind hit and running.

Think it depends where you play. On the shallow end of the pool, where I swim, you'll attract attention switching from red to greens at El Cortez or The Vegas Club.
i've read that people go $25-400 at some of the MGM properties, but can't attest to it.

As I said in an extensive post in the counting forum a few minutes ago, I spread 1-3 in Vegas DD games and have never had any kind of heat. Obviously, I'm a conservative player.

I think 1-8 is a good goal. But I would think heavily about spreading to two hands when you want to get more out. I see a lot of players play two hands at the $25 tables with 3 or 4 chips on each and not drawing any undue attention from the house.

Most places in Vegas will make you double the table min. on each hand if you play 2 hands, so there is built-in cover in the play.

1-8 is fine for DD. Don't forget to look around for good pen. A DD game with mediocre pen is no better than a good shoe game.

General rule downtown on SD or DD seems to be no spreading to two hands after the first round. Either two hands on a fresh suffle,or one hand all the way.

I usually spread 1-6 on SD and 1-8 on DD. I will also Wong in/out several times per hour. I play mostly downtown where the decent SD and DD games are. The heat will usually be there by around TC+4, but it's not so bad if you're playing for low stakes ($5 min). You can pretty much get away with anything if you don't act suspicious or look guilty. Playing for higher stakes ($25 min or higher) will bring you attention right away. Without a good act the attention will turn into heat pretty quickly. The strip is more tolerant of $25 DD players.

I used a 1-5 spread at some of the best games in vegas, on the strip... It seemed I had heat pretty early on, but I think I was red flagged from the time i gave them my players card because of my previous trip where i played 10+ hours with a 1-10 spread. However I continued to play many many hours at two casinos in particular, the heat seemed to continue to grow and so did my spread as I won more money and I got closer to the end of my trip. During the last hour of play I was spreading $100-$1000. I believe the dealer was a card counter as he went and reported to the PB after every other shoe or so. It didnt help that i seemed to just keep winning and winning. It was getting late The amount of suits kept growing and I placed my last bet at the end of the two decks. As I was walking out they stoped me and informed me that I'm now flat betted at these two places. Overall I must have played around 14 hours at these two casinos over a couple days and I won about 17k. Unfortunately I lost 12k across the street! Overall I still ended up with a small profit for my trip. Obviously I overstayed my welcome!

Restricting you to a flat-bet might just give you an oppurtunity to get an even bigger advantage. Learn how to shuffletrack and flat bet your max bet!

Absolutely true. I only get to play 3 to 4 times / year, so I play for fun and comps. The game is far more interesting for me if I count.

Finally getting back to Vegas over New Years. Woohoo!
