So it seems Reno is out I am for sure going to vegas. i laready have my plane ticket and reservations. I will be staying at Luxor.

My question is are there single deck games on the strip or will I have to go downtown? Has anyone been to Vegas lately and tell me the most common house rules. Like standing or hitting on soft 17 doubling down on 10 and 11 only or any 2 cards??

Thanks a bunch

Ps i have been using the stategy trainer and been doing quite well in a session I usually run from 88% up to 100 perfect usually around 96%.

For single deck games you will have to go downtown. There is 6:5 single deck on the strip but those don't count. There are all kinds of rules in Vegas games but if I had to say the most common, it would be 6D H17 DOA.

Thanks Sytem.

I'll ignore my mom's advice. She said I shouldn't go downtown because i will be going alone. I am not too worried. I do live in the suburbs of a big city and lived in seattle for a while so I know to be aware of my surroundings after all I don't want to end up on CSI. As much as I would love to meet Nick Stokes not as a corpse though LOL

I thought the strip was like s17 exclusively.

Not on your life for 1D. Not even on shoe games these days, only some properties at typically higher limits.

I am going on halloween to vegas  and one more time before that may be. Which downtown casinos have 1 deck game ? If any body know the table limits and such , could you please elaborate , i still have an option to change the hotel reservation.

The downtown is fine especially during the day. Use common sense of course, don't go wandering down any back alley or go too far from Freemont St. and keep a close eye on your purse (pick pockets). You can even go to the Western during the day.

The following casinos have 1D games.
Four Queens
Binions
El Cortez
The Western
As for table limits I can't remember off hand but if you get a copy of CBJN it will tell you. They are available from $5-$25 minimums to ? max.

You'll want to get your BS/index play to 100% competency before going into a casino. Even if you're averaging 96% correct play it can still have hindering effects on your EV.

If you aren't scoring 100% each and every time, just bring a BS card to the table and consult it when needed. Make sure it's the right card for the game you are playing. Using a multi-deck, DOA card on a SD with NDAS is not very efficent.

Per Shad's advice,

You can take screen shots of the basic strategy generator on this website (http://www.blackjackinfo.com/bjbse.php) for each of the games/rules you think you may play on your trip. Then you can print them all on a single page and fold that page so that it fits into a pocket (and so that only the game you are playing at the time shows up). I find this helpful (at least in Vegas where many deck / rule combinations are offered).
