Not sure
Hey PD,
Not sure if all the facts are out there for this case. I can't find any in formation on what type of machines this would be. I would doubt it if a technician could alter or flip a switch on these machines without more people involved. Now if they personally did "flip a switch" then i think they are fried. Can't come up with this scenerio..
I can remember a particular 4 of a kind promo in Laughlin years ago involving VP..
The deal was you hit a particular 4 of a kind, and they paid double i believe. Well they had some multi denomination machines. What you did is play quarter denom and hit the 4 of a kind the flip it over to the dollar denom and your 4 kind looked like it was in dollars denomination. The floor would verify and pay off the coin bonus.
Really in a very gray if not on the edge of black area. Very poorly run casino. I think that that promo lasted 2 weeks , and someone finally caught on after the vp section was full of nothing but hustlers. LOL
Maybe they were able to change the denomination of a jackpot . Say a penny jackpot , and then swith to a dollar or something. Maybe these machines weren't linked up to a central computer , that shows exactly what the jackpot could be.
So i think it would have to be something along these lines of thought. Ya just cant "flip switches" LOL Especially techs. Not much for switches left in slots. Mostly all touch screens. They were probably old machines.
I'd be interested to really find out the answer on this down the road.
Take care all
