As someone who always looks for + EV games, there are some casinos which are so desperate for visitors, that they are giving away lots of free slot $'s. In many cases, this makes playing slot machines +EV. I know after having gambled a total of $300 for 2 hours at one particular slot machine and giving up an expected 8% casino edge on each spin, I expected to have lost $76.80 after those 2hrs assuming 240 spins/hr. (I actually won but that's beside the point) After having done that, I have now received a total of $380 in bonus slot dollars spread out over 2 months 
In order to preserve capital, I used them all on video poker, there by netting me an expected gain of ($380*.99)-$76.80= $299.40 Not bad for just taking a little break from BJ/poker
