Slot Tournaments

I have been getting lots of offers for Slot Tournaments lately and I'm wondering if any of these are worth going to. They all seem to pay out to 8 places and extend over 2-3 days but I have no way to know how many people are entered...

Also, is there any strategy to these?

My strategy is to show up for registration, pig out on the free finger food, then show up at the closing dinner and repeat the same, while taking advantage of the free room offers.
I've actually done two tournaments- you sit there rapidly pressing the button as quick as possible for some 7 minutes. I believe its nothing but luck. There is one combination that will give you a lot of points. If you get that two or three times, you win. If someone else gets them, they win.

I entered my first slot tourney last month, and it was the most retardedly easy +EV job I've found in a long while. 3 nights comped on one of the busiest weekends of the year, and the entry fee was equal to the published room rate for one night. As anticipated, I finished in the bottom tier, which paid $50 slot credit. Played it through 9/7 DB (slightly negative EV), hit quads and cashed for $80. But the entertainment value was priceless.

The strategy is simple: hit the button as fast as you can. A good share of your ploppy counterparts will actually hit the button harder rather than faster, hence the entertainment factor. The MC will announce there's one minute to go, and the cacophony of button noise will jump by 15 decibels.
