Soboba downgrade

Soboba Casino, San Jacinto, CA, has downgraded their DD and 6 deck games to H-17.

Being the dumpiest casino in the area, it used to advertise the best blackjack rules in the area. Now their is no reason to go there.

The funny thing is that in most places no ones appears to know, understand or see the difference except for the very few players who are knowledgable and the casinos do not really want these players anyway. I do not only mean advantage players but also bs players who know the difference between a game with a .4 and a .6% house edge.
Soboba has taken a marginal S-17 double deck game, with no DAS and only double 10 and 11, and made it H-17, making it one of the worst DD games that pays 3/2.
Being that it is a small casino and far off the highway in an area where there are bigger casinos close to the highway and better games near Palm Springs, I think they may actually see a negative result in profits from this change. Also, they are a casino with no attraction like a hotel, spa or fancy restuarant, so their customers are only there to gamble which leads me to believe that a bigger percentage of their customers will see the difference in the rules.

I do not live in the area but though the population is small, the average person in that casino appears to be not a genius. I have no idea if their customers are primarily from the immediate area or they come from Riverside or wherever. Being that you must get lost to get there, perhaps the average customer is just lost.
Maybe they just decided to stick it to who ever comes there.

this really sucks cause i was thinking of making a trip their from socal, but maybe it doesn't suck, because now i won't have to make the drive!

so would you say going stratight to palms springs is a better option now? just skip soboba all together?

I would say so. If you can't find a good game at Soboba then you're stuck in the middle of nowhere. In the Palm Springs area there are quite a few casinos so you can usually find something worth playing.
