i had a weird experience the last couple of weeks, in various games 6d, dd, sd i recieved the pair of aces a total of 19 times and split every single one of them, in various counts. during this time for a total of 38 hands i only recieved one face card, anyone else ever had a run like that for splits? i won only about 40-45% of the hands as well as the majority of my cards were very small cards

Did you get any more aces? Is Resplit Aces allowed in your game?

Personally my split aces have always seemed to be in line with the odds overall.

i recieved a couple of aces on them but it wasnt a resplit aces game, it was the weirdest streak like that ive ever seen, i figured in 38 hands (19 split hands) that at least more than 1 card would be a face card

I don't usually feel good about splitting aces. It's good that the strategy is so overwhelmingly in favor of splitting them in virtually all cases except nopeek games, so that way I don't have to think about it too hard.

From my own playing experience, when splitting aces you'll often win one hand and lose the other. Local games where I play now don't allow resplits which is a real bummer.

I won't personally split aces against a ten because of that. Personal choice.

i miss playing back home in calif. where the local casinos will allow you to resplit everything but their single deck, but that one has decent enough rules to make it worth playing.

i love the places you can resplit where you end up keep getting aces, nothing better feeling playing where you split 4x and get 4 faces with it on huge bets

When I double down my 11 when the dealer is showing a 6, about half the time I end up with 17 or less. From my experience, the dealer will often draw to higher than 17.

Don't get down if you lose a double down of 11 vs a 6 you are going to lose that hand at least 32% of the time if not more. but you will win it like 60% of the time and push it the other 8% of the time. If you look at the hands on hand at a time you will drive your self crazy trying to make the right move.
So if you lose a hand that you played right shake it off and say thats gambling!

I think he was being sarcastic in response to pom pom's comment! Of course he doubles 11 v 6 everytime, win or lose, just like you almost always split aces, even against a 10, even with resplit no allowed. Two 11's are better than one 12.

I ended up splitting aces and resplitting three more times (so I had four aces out there) and I got a face on all four aces. I had $75 out too (3/4 max bet). I almost wept it was beautiful. Too bad I wasn't into shuffle tracking / sequencing at the time, would have been an amazing opportunity on the follow up shoe. I think the dealer had two faces too.
