Spreading one's bet

Hello everyone. I have been perusing this site for a couple of weeks and it has earned me about $700$. Woohoo. Anyways I am hoping to up my bankroll and start making some better money since things seem to be falling into place. My BR will be 3000 dollars soon and therefore I will have my max bet set at 30 dollars thanks to advice from this forum...thanks:) Anyways I was wondering how I should spread my bet. Here is my idea which is slightly relative to the spread i used to use with lower amounts.

TC -1: $1-2$
TC 0: $3$
TC 1: $10$
TC 2: $15$
TC 3: $20$
TC 4: $30$

So, what do you think? I sometimes worry that i am betting too much on the TC of 1 and that $30$ has merit with a TC of 3, maybe even 2. Anyways, i am sure there is a system to make optimal variance to one's bets so if anyone has the secret I'd love to know. Am using hi-lo v. 2 deck h17, no surr, no das, datc, 1-15 spread, 65% pen

Looks pretty reasonable. Normally I would recommend back-counting to someone with a short bankroll, but if you can find a $1 table, it doesn't matter so much.

You also might want to try spreading to two hands, as this lets you bet more with lower risk of ruin. On the other hand, spreading to multiple hands can draw heat, and if you're getting away with a 1-30 spread, I wouldn't look the gift horse in the mouth.

1$Baller,

I cant say for sure so take this with a pound of salt.

Although your bet spread has a low ror it was also have a low roi.
Hopefully somebody here will tell you the optimal bet srpead/strategy for hi-lo.
In any event, heres how i would play it.

TC 1: 5
TC 2:10
TC 3:10X10
TC 4:20X20

Your playing a -.53 according to your rules. Is it face up or face down. Can you split aces. Can you split up to 4 X. Full table? Are you looking for something aggresive or conservative. (Betting)?

Yeah that sounds like a good plan except at my casino you have to have double the minimum if you have 2 hands so that means 2 and 2 which lowers my spread. Also if you drop a hand you cant add it until the next shoe.. annoying.
As far as heat is concerned though i don't think ill be getting any. One of the waiters actually tried to teach me how to count cards while i was playing.

A whole pound? I usually just take things with a grain. Anyways pardon my ignorance, i must ask. What is a roi, risk of income? Anyways if i can get a better roi id like to know how cause it sounds good. Also I like the idea of doubling it after every 1 increment in the TC, sounds reasonable. to answer your questions about the game it is face up. split anything only once. its usually me and the dealer or two others at the most, and by nature i am a conservative.

Maybe a 1/2 pound.
By todays standards that game is a pretty good game! Jump on it, but dont play it 23 hrs a day. Stick with the dollar minium as often as possible. Try that spread if you wish. But go with this strategy! TC 0 to +4 only go 10. +4 to +6 only go 10X10.Win or lose) (+6 to +4 only go max* if you win) if you lose stick with 10X10) *If you lose max and the TC+4 or more let er keep riding. The key is not to more than double your big bets at anytime!

If you bet 5 and the counts goes sky high. Just go 10.
Its okay to jump from 1 to 10$ Ive had alot of homebound success with this strategy but it was slightly different and slighty more aggressive.

For that game you probably don’t want to raise your bets until a TC of +2. You might try something like this:

TC <2: $1
TC 2: $5
TC 3: $10
TC 4: $20
TC 5: $30

You might be able to win a few dollars per hour playing like this. It’s too bad they have restrictions on mid-shoe entry and playing multiple hands.

Thanks Sonny,
I think this is what I'm going to go with. Just a few dollars an hour though with a 1-30 spread? i guess i've been lucky these past two weeks. Once i hit the big 21 ill be finding a better game for sure.
