I am using CCard points for a free stay and have narrowed it down to either Excalibur or Planet Hollywood. I want to get a card and rate my play to hopefully start receiving offers..

I know MGM properties have S17 6d which is what I want to play but I heard that planet hollywood has better comp offers but are their games playabe? Which one do I have the best chance at getting offers plaing 25-300 spread?? Does staying and playing help with offers??

Please Help I have never even used a players card before.

Thanks.

MGM has overall more decent games than Planet Hollywood.

Planet Hollywood may have a couple of shoe games that are cut a little deeper.

MGM used to be better because they were S17 while PH was H17, but this has changed.

I think PH is a better place to stay in terms of room than Excalibur.

Excalibur is owned by MGM-Mirage and all MGM-Mirage properties use one card. There are often bonuses of signing up for cards, so be sure you milk this opportunity for what it's worth. Unfortunately, I don't think MGM-Mirage is very fond of new player promotions.

I've never stayed at PH, but I'm almost positive that the rooms will be nicer than those at the Excalibur. And at least in my opinion, PH has a much nicer location.

Planet Hollywood's games at the $5-$25 level are pretty much standard in terms of the Strip. They're not great but playable with Wonging. However, there are several dealers at PH who were obviously hired for their looks rather than their dealing skills, so there are more "advanced" opportunities there than at the MGM-Mirage joints (where the dealers are generally top-notch).

Also, note that because MGM-Mirage has a common card, you can simply stay at Excalibur and play at places with better games, such as MGM Grand, or Mandalay Bay, which are within spitting distance of Excalibur. Tropicana is also very close to Excalibur but isn't an MGM-Mirage property.

Excalibur's BJ is extremely poor.
Their offerings are as follows:

CSM h17
8 deck 7:5 "party pit" on weekends with scantily clad women dancing behind the blackjack tables
$15/$25 double deck with h17 and no DAS, didn't notice a single instance of a dealer placing the cut card at or past the 50% mark. Saw a lot of 45% penetration.

The only game in the place that looked remotely playable was the spanish 21, that's if you know the proper strategy for that game of course.

Tropicana has $5 6D hand shuffled blackjack all the time and has dealer dependent pen. You might get lucky and find good pen. Or you might get 2 decks cut off. Shop around. Right across the street.

And then of course, Ex is also a very reasonable walk from MANDALAY BAY, which has the best 6D rules on the strip for $10 min and acceptable pen. MGM and NYNY both looked acceptable also, but no low stakes S17.

Excalibur does have very inconvenient parking, also.
