Just thought I would share a interesting(i hope) story from the casino the other night. Guy was playing heads up, betting table max of 500.00, and spreading to all seven spots most of the time. Quite a crowd started to gather, as we watched in amazement as he hit on hard 17, only to draw an ace, and ask for another card. Dealer, pb and half crowd couldnt believe it. I started counting when I got their. This guy was definitely not counting. He was clearly playing 'by feel'. I think he tried to draw out smaller cards, to set up next hand, or something like that. He doubled 13v5, and split paint v 6 in a very neg count. Not sure what he bought in for, but he was up 37g or so when I left. It was entertaining if nothing else. I got my @$$ handed to me in hi count, grinding out 80.00 top bets, and this guy is up with his voodoo system. Funny how it goes...

What kind of game was it and when he spread to 7 hands were they really all at table max or was maybe only the 3rd base bet at max?

These guys are everywhere

Does not matter if the guy is a $5, $500 or $5,000 player, the ability to play blackjack and your net worth have nothing to do with each other.
Sometimes you will sit at a table with this kind of player and get your butt kicked while he is playing with a huge disadvantage but is winning hand after hand, that is short run blackjack!
For him that win sticks in his mind and he believes he will repeat while the casino knows how poorly he plays and encourages his return. For you, who have put in untold hours reading, practicing and playing in order to have an advantage over the game, it can be amazing but he is playing blackjack just like some little old lady sitting at a slot who sometimes hits a jackpot but overall donates more money to the casino than the average table game player.

Hey Kasi

Yes, all seven spots we're table max. One purple chip per spot. That was pretty easy to recogonize(haha)6d, h17 with avg pen. The odd time he would jump down to a green on one spot, but their was no correlation to count. Strictly gut feeling player.

Funny how in games where the player must make a decision, the player feels responsible for his wins. He doesn't feel like it was luck like a slot machine. It was his strategy. His big win will keep him coming back over and over and over again until he has lost so much he can't play anymore.

Thanks golfnut - I just was wondering if he maybe was depthcharging or something.

More importantly we might be playing in a few weeks:)
