Surrender after split

Is this allowed on the East coast? Suppose a player is dealt 9,9 vs 9. The player splits and draws a 7 on the first 9. Can the player surrender?

Is it allowed....? No. The PA stores I have played allow you to surrender on your first two cards only. However.....I have had a new dealer let me when I split 8's and got a 7 on one. I did the line thing and said surrender. She took 1/2 my bet and moved to the my next hand. After it was all done, I had another player look at me a grin.

Most times there will be some ploppie that can't help but throw their 2 cents in and say something stupid like....That's not allowed!!

My answer....try it. The worst they can say is no. It's great cover cause you look like a typical yahoo.

In a traditional blackjack game, this rule would be EXTREMELY rare, if at all. But There are a couple of variations of blackjack; where in ALL venues, the rules will allow you to surrender at ANY TIME, including after splitting AND after doubling down; namely Spanish 21 and SuperFun 21. However, the overall approach to these games are much different than traditional blackjack, so you would be well advised to stay away from these games unless you know the particular strategy of the particular game.

If you can talk them into it, by all means go for it. You would be doing a lot of 10-10 splitting and have a giant edge against the casino.

No casino would allow this for long, they would go bankrupt.

Drift on Inn and Club Hollywood in Shoreline, WA offered this for years. I'm not sure if they do anymore. I think the Drift closed and Club Hollywood may have been sold. It's a nice option to have (especially when splitting aces vs. 8 or higher) but it's nothing that would bankrupt a casino. I can't see why it would cause anyone to split face cards more often than normal.

I think those Royal Match BJ machines will allow surrender after a split, but am not 100% certain. I'll look into them.
