Sweet Dealer Error

Was at Foxwoods today and was betting 2 hands of 10 units each. Pulled a 19 and a 17. Dealer pulled a 19. I thought "No big deal, push one lose one. " Dealer knocks the table for push on the 19, and then to my amazement knocks the table for my 17. She even verbally said "push"! I waited until the cards were swept up and then dropped my bet down. No one at the table said a word either. This must be a very rare occurrence in order to essentially be given $100 free by the casino!

That's very common

I see everywhere in favor as well as against the player.. Based on my records,
mispay in my favor:Mispay against me which I need to counterfeit = 5:6

So better be careful if you don't notice mispay against you. There are couple of occasions when dealer has tried to grabbed my money on her 22.

If I had $50 dollars for every time a dealer pushed a losing hand... Oh wait, I do! Then there's the classic pay-a-push, which is another favorite of mine.

There was a dumb bitch who was convinced I had 22 when I had some greasy 6 or 7 card hand, but i actually made 21... I knew it too, I was like "whoa whoa whoa add it up again please." she still gets 22? The pit boss came over and said I had 21 and to please leave my cards on the table with my money lol. Such a sloppy dealer though I avoid her at all times now.

To my amazement, and while the PB was standing there, the dealer paid me on pushes on two consecutive hands.

Also a dealer once paid my red chips with green!

Dealer errors

Just recently was dealt an 18 dealer had 17 she knocked on the table as if it were a push. I waited until she scooped up the cards and then told her I had an 18 and should have been paid. She calls the pit boss over and they backup the cards to check to verify and I get paid. On the next hand I'm dealt a 17 and the other player at the table also gets a 17, the dealer has 18.I guess the previous hand must have rattled her because she knocked the table again for a push on both of our hands. Needless to say neither one of us said anything about the mistake this time.

Note: The higher the stakes the less likely are dealer errors.

Red chip action is not paid close attention.

Red chip tables are manned by the sloppier dealers.

Bring an Ishihara test to the casino?

I wonder if dealers are tested for color blindness. Playing with a dealer who is red-green color blind could have some interesting possibilities!

I remember 2 dealer mistakes, both during changing money, in one casino I put 400 and was given 500 chips, in another put 50 and was given 100...

There are +5000 members here. If everyone totaled up their Sweet Dealer Errors over time and we had a final figure, the figure would probably feed a so-called Third World country for one year. So I begin with mine. (I believe that in the cut-parry-thrust that is the game; and given that casinos may cheat by legally using devices; and that they often seem to employ less-than-wholesome morals in their marketing and casino-floor games' practices, I actually look forward to Sweet Dealer Errors without even one twitter of conscience.)

That being said, it may not get me into heaven. *hic* My SDE running total is around $4000 is my guess - over years - including one gem of $1200 when a new, young dealer paid my 6-card-19 push when he got flustered by a belligerent cuss next to me. And how much did they get back from my (unknown) mistakes? I have no idea! But I'm pretty sure I'm well in front!

Another one..

Well since the thread is still fresh I'll add another story that just happened today. (I did not benefit unfortunately...) I'm at 1st base. Upon the initial deal the girl in the middle gets a 13, and 3rd base gets a 20. (I also had 20) Girl in the middle indicates for hit. The dealer somehow pulled a card and it flew into the dealers chip holder tray. Then for some reason he pulled another card and gave the 2nd one to her which turned out to be an ace. We pointed out that he had screwed up, so the pit boss agreed that the 1st card would be put on giving the girl a 19 and now the next card for 3rd base is known to be an ace! Of course 3rd base now doubled on his hard 20, to get a 21. Gotta say I've never seen anyone double a 20 before, but it sure was neat to watch.:p

So why wouldn't the girl hit her 19 to a 20? Or better yet bargain with 3rd base to "sell" him the ace? I can see ploppies not thinking about the sales opportunity here, but it seems obvious that she can have a better hand herself by just taking the ace for a 20.

that's sweet

Pit boss allowed third base to take an ace.. Most of the casinos burn the exposed cards and they din't bother about my hooters about the burnt ace which was coming to me..

Footnote: In New Jersey the standard practice in that situation is that, with full knowledge of the upcoming card, each player, in order, chooses whether to play the hand or to withdraw from the round and have their bet refunded. The one absolute constant is the inflexible rule that "cards may not be backed-up" — under any circumstances.

The dealer error I've been waiting for is for the cards to be placed in the shoe face-up so you always see the next card. Hmm, perhaps I'll propose such a game.

Same with Connecticut.

There was a girl, a scarecrow, a lion, and a tin man. They were walking along a yellow brick road when they saw a casino and decided to enter. They sat at a game of blackjack and saw the cards in the shoe were all face up. Their EV was absolutely startling and they won heaps, quickly.

They went to the cage and were promptly arrested and their winnings were confiscated and they were 86d and thrown out. But the game continued...

Sorry to rain on your parade.

My parade has been rained upon by expert rainmakers.:)
The rain always stops after a while and eventually, the sun comes out. The rain moves on and hopefully, the rainmakers perished in their flood.

The fortuitous four moved on to the next casino, where they said to each other: Gee, we had good luck winning at blackjack. What bad luck we had at the cage and got thrown out. Now look at this good luck: a game of roulette with all the ball slots each with the same number; 29, AND no Zero! Let's bet on 29. They won heaps again. What good luck!... :joker:
