I went up to Cape Cod for a few days and took along my two copies of te ACG so I could use the two matchplay coupons at Foxwoods.Used one on a table and won, crossed the casino and used the sevcond one successfully as well.
Suddenly got some grief for using two in one day. So,I quit,up $100.Walking to the car I threw $40 in a 5cent Cleopatra slot, hit the bonus game after about 5 spins and cashed out for $110.
On the way home,we stopped at the Newport Grand,a former jai-li fronton that I read about in the ACG.Won $3100 on a Tabasco slot and exited up almost $3500 total.Would never have even heard of the place without the American Casino Guide.

Yeah, the ACG can be a great resource. It has some good information and coupons if you are looking for free/discounted rooms as well. It is well worth the price for most recreational players. It isn't as detailed as CBJN or Trackjack, but it does have some worthwhile information the other don't.

I just ordered it after reading this post. The Foxwoods coupon alone gives me a profit on the book. I wonder how many I can use in a year.

COUPON SAYS ONE PER PLAYER. i'M NOT SURE IF ITS ONE A DAY OR ONE A YEAR.I'VE USED MULTIPLE COUPONS IN VARIOUS CASINOS,NEVER HAD A PROBLEM TIL FOXWOODS.

Is the book good for the actual locating and listing of casinos? Are the maps quality and when does the 2007 version become available?

I think you'll find some coupons give 2:1 payouts on blackjack. Making basic stategy +EV and counting even better.

Numerous matchplay coupons
lots of 2-4-1 meal, room and show offers.
A directory of every casino in the US.

I can see how it would be valueless. At less than $15 a book,it pays for itself the first dinner you save 2-4-1 on.Or the first spcial room rate you use,or second matchplay.....

My question was directed at AutoMonk who already gets sufficient comp and who will get little relative value from a $5 MP. zg

i guess i'm butting in here... so sorry. thing is why wouldn't one go for the $5 MP regardless of what other astronomical level of comps one is getting.
heck when i take a stroll i'm always watching out for pennies to pocket. i'm not wealthy but i'm comfortable still in the pocket those found pennies go.
as counters looking to keep as much of our edge as possible we skimp on actions such as toking ect.

best regards,

There was a $25 match play in there that I've used already. Paid for the book. Not only that, there's buffets and other discounts that I can use on my road trips where I'm not getting comped. So at the very least it's break-even.
