Yesterday I played 3 casinos in the Sparks area they where Rail City, Silver Club, and John Ascuaga's Nugget. In all three of the casino they all had good to reasonable rules certainably playable conditions in all 3 casinos. For some reason I did not feel as comfortable in Rail City as the rest of the casinos. The Silver Club is a casino that made we feel really comfortable and I enjoyed playing there even though I was huge loser there for the day. Losing over $500 there in under 30 minutes kind of makes an impression especially when the table max is only a $100, the minimum bet on Friday night was $3-$5 depending on the table you sit at. The rules are 1 deck double on any first two cards, no das, split aces once, every other pair up two 4 times, and a 3 to 2 payout on blackjack the rules that a smart blackjack player comes to find. With 3 players at the table she consistly dealt 3 to 4 rounds before the shuffle the game is hand shuffled. I have always found that when the dealers have to hand shuffle the deck they typically give better penetration than ones that get to use shufflers and two sets of cards. At the Silver Club I thought that both the Pit bosses and the dealers where very friendly and that is not something that can be taken lightly when deciceding where to play.
Last but not least is the place right next door to the Silver Club, John Ascuagua's Nugget if you are a realitively big player $25 minimum vs $5 minimum you get better rules at the Nugget rules for 1 deck on $5 minimum are average Reno-Tahoe rules double down on 10-11 only no das, split pairs, 3 to 2 payout, the rules for the $25 minimum table for one deck are double down any first two cards, no das, split aces once, and other pairs to make 4 hands, and a 3 to 2 payout on blackjack. If you want to play for big money the Nugget is the best place to play they have a $2,000 max bet on the $25 tables they also carry $500 and $1,000 chips so they are equiped to handle the big action. If you win $500-$1,000 they probably have an easier time explaining the lose than if you play in a place that has $100 chips as it's top chip. The Pen is reasonable at the nugget. If you play a $25 min. table I suggest that you bring a min. of $2,000 with you preferably I would like to see you bring a minimum of $5,000 with you. I learned the hard way that bringing $500-$600 with you just won't cut it at these table wile it might at a $5 minium table. I realize that a $25 minimum table is out of a lot people's range of affordable gambling and if you can't afford to lose $2,000 in a session don't play.
