The importance of good rules!

I have a blackjack log that I keep track of the places I play and the rules offered in those casinos and my result after about 25 visits is I have found that I'm a winning player with good rules but with average rules I'm a loser. I wont even attempt to play bad rules like 6 to 5! Overall I'm only a few hundred up after putting in more than $9,000 into the blackjack tables and wagering more than $40,000 in tiny bets! If you are basic stragedy player you will lose more than twice as fast with average rules compared to good rules. If you have horrible rules you will 6 times as fast!

Not always true. Good rules are not the most important thing, deep pen is. Now for the basic strategy player better rules are important but since you put this in the counting section, the counter should look for good pen over good rules. While it's great to have both, those games are hard to find. I know of a game with horrible rules, the house has a .78% edge and counters avoid this place like the plague but I love it because you can find pen up to 88% and I kill the place.

well i like to play under the best rules available and good penetration. i believe there is a write up in Snyder's Blackbelt in Blackjack concerning the degree of advantage or disadvantage that various penetration levels affords. and cvcx simulations can be studied showing the affect. it would be nice if there were tables according to various game rules that showed advantage percentages for various levels of penetration.
it's interesting to ponder the implication of wong out points from the perspective of current count and just how much of the undealt pack is left.

With mediocre rules USE A BIGGER SPREAD and wong-out more. zg
