The Siena in Reno is reopening on 4/21/11 bringing 350 jobs back to Reno! It should be a nice boom to the Reno economy. I also heard that fresh new casinos especially in there opening day can be gold mine for card counters and professional gamblers if the casino hasn't worked out all the kinks.

Often, for highline joints, its just the opposite, due to enhanced private game security presence. zg

New casinos look for known faces first and ask questions about bet and playing skill later on.

Almost ALWAYS. I, for one; will not show my face in there until at LEAST 30 days have passed.

We are not the only ones who know about the tendency toward weaknesses in the early days of a casinos' opening. The casino is ALSO aware of this. These guys aren't TOTAL idiots. They WILL be on their guard for us.

Palms was open about four days and had a great 2D game.
I played 4 hours got a room comp and a comp+pass to Ghost Bar.

The next evening I wa splaying in a back pit without my player card and the SB with 2 securtiy approached from behind and said "Mr. Undrhill back away from the table." I pretended like I did n't hear and then when he said it again, I feigned confusion and said "I'm not Underhill?" He said whoever you are we want you off the premises. I replied that it seemed a little extreme. He said never the less we want you off the property.

I didn't dare say I had a room comp - then I could have been packed out AND held for room payment.

So I tell the SB: Okay, but first can you tell me the difference between a desert cactus and the area known as the blackjack pit (motioning behind the table). He says okay, whats the difference? I reply: "On the cactus the pricks are on the outside."

Immediately I am escorted to the cage by two security to cash out and then the walk me to a cab.

I play a couple hours elsewhere - and then I return to the Palms - walk quickly to the elevator - OH NO - one of the security who booted me is checking room keys.

I show him my key and he says "Thank you sir!" z:laugh:g

That's the longest post I've ever seen from you yet by about 500 characters. I really enjoyed the story, Mr. Underhill.

You should've been around when Zg and I were discussing the Northwest tree octopus. He's extremely well versed on the subject of toad licking.:eek:
