The treatment of the pit on the effect of being banned?

How much time do you think that you could buy if you treated the pit really well. What if you where friends with some of the people that worked in the pit. I believe that this could buy you some time when you play at there place and are counting cards. I think that it might have bought me more than a year at Boomtown before I was banned. It could be as simply as saying hi to the pit when they walk over to your table. If they feel comfortable around you they might not watch you as closely and focus on someone else. It's kind of like waving to the cops as if there is nothing wrong when you just commited a misdominer. Hopefully they will think that there is nothing wrong wave back and let you be on your way.

The friendliest backoffs you will ever have or not

Over the years I have been friends with many a floorman, pit boss and table game manager. Ian Anderson's bet level enabled him to give gifts to PC's but the originator of this thread is not playing at high roller tables.
Some of these pits were friends of family, some I had socialized with outside the casino world and yes a few did know how I played at the tables.
I have been warned that it was a good time to leave and I have been backed off in very friendly manners a few times.
The thing is even if that certain pit thinks you are a great guy and would want to let you continue to play, he is often not the decision maker and just the messenger. I would not ask him too, and he would not give up his job for you, so if word comes from above that you need to be backed off, he backs you off.
I remember one instance where I was just casually friendly with this pit crew member. Really not a guy who knew blackjack well. When word came from one of his supervisors to back me off, he took it like I had personally done something to him, and was extremely nasty about the whole thing. I still play at that casino, he went somewhere and they have not backed me off in the past 6 or so years but I drop in perhaps once a year.
