This looks strange.

Over at this web site: http://www.spinpalace.com/online-blackjack/hi-opt-ii-system.asp there is a listing of card values for Hi Opt II:

2) +1
3) +1
4) +2
5) +2
6) +2
7) +7 (?)
8) 0
9) 0
10) -2
A) 0

Why so high for the seven? Just to balance the system out? Is this even a balanced system?

At first glance it seems like the value of +7 for the seven must be an error.

Is this the system Kevin Blackwood talks about in his interview? With a side count of aces?

Just interested.

It's a typo - should have been +2.

Thank you. Any other errors there before I spend a few hours fooling with it?

Also is it a balanced count? Like start at zero or some other number?

Appreciate your reply in advance.

Not that i can see there. It is balanced once you change that error so it should start at zero, but technically could start at any number you want as long as you made the relevant adjustments.

The 6 and the 7 should both be +1. Also, HO2 is obsolete. zg

Totally right. It's fairly amazing how addition doesn't work for me at 7am lol.

Zen, Revere Point Count, basically anything that doesn't require an ace side count.

Couldn't a side count of aces help in these too?

Reason I ask is that i have no trouble keeping track of aces on my feet. Even when playing shoe games.

If you can do it accurately then more power to you. I used Hi-Opt II for about 7 years and loved it. But if you ever decide to get into more advanced techniques like sequencing or shuffle tracking you'll probably have to switch to another system that doesn't use a side count. I use Zen now and I like it because it’s easier and I can play much faster now. The stats are about the same as Hi-Opt II so I’m actually doing better now that I switched.

Are you using Zen just for single and double deck? Or for all shoe games too?

I'm using it for shoes too. The shoe games are really where it pays off for me. I didn't play many shoe games when I was using HO2 so my ace adjustments were kinda slow.
