trying to see how I measure up.

I was wondering if I could get a few people to try the trainer at (Dead link: http://www.blackjack-bst.com)
I've been doing it and am averaging 4 mistakes and taking between 625 to 658 seconds to complete the cycle.Although I'm faster than when I started, and am making fewer mistakes,I have no idea what a good player would be scoring.
Its just a couple of minutes, and I think it would help me to see how much improvement I need.
Thanks.

You should aim for 100% accuracy with BS. I think 600 seconds is pretty slow as well, but you should look for 100% accuracy, then work on building your speed.

I don't think the trainer is 100% accurate. I tried the single deck test everytime 8 vs 5 or 6 comes up it says I should hit...

I think they use a 4-deck game as their standard.

Its about 285 hands per cycle, once in awhile its 283 or 284.I AM trying for 100% accuracy.Have done it a few times, but am averaging about 2-6 mistakes a cycle-hence the average of 4.
You say you should be able to answer them in less than a second, but that doesn't mean you should complete the cycle in 285 seconds, does it. There is a gap between when you answer and the next hand appears.

Thanks to all who took the time to answer

For their 4d h17 DAS game they only have you hit an 11 with an Ace up (you should double) . I didn't notice any other errors.

I've used it a few times and it is actually making me improve, though my attempt at getting faster keeps my mistakes high. The mistakes I make seem to be mostly because of speed, or the program not agreeing with the chart I have memorized. (one that comes to memory is it telling me to split 6's on 2 with the 4 deck) Anyway, my results are promising from playing 5 times:

First game: 586 seconds, 37 mistakes
Fifth game: 408 seconds, 21 mistakes

I'd like to get to 300 seconds, or at least 400 with no mistakes... but it looks like I've got a long way to go. It's a pretty cool program (plus I can do it at work hehe) but I wish it had more options like personal settings.

If you can double after splitting with four decks then you split 22 vs 2 or 3, 33 vs 2 or 3, 44 vs 5 or 6, and 66 vs 2. If you can't double after splitting, then you don't split them, just hit them.
Make sure you use the right basic strategy chart depending on what rules the casino has. Like how many decks, can you double after splitting, does the dealer hit or stand on a soft 17, and can you surrender.

422 seconds with zero wrong. I can't do it any better than that! I kept getting interupted before the end of the cycle at which point i would usually have a couple wrong due to haste.

i tryed it. didn't do so well. for got what my score was. i was slow though and i think i made four mistakes before i gave up. frankly i don't care for the thing.
if i was just using basic strategy i would love it and practice on it like crazy andi think it would help me a lot. but the thing is i use indices (well the I18) so what i find happening to me while using the system is in my mind i'm ignoring the indices for the sake of speed. for me because of that i don't like it. i want the indices to come to mind also when i making play decisions.

best regards,
mr fr0g :D

2 wrong...283 right

I agree with posters who said 100% accuracy is the best strategy to start playing. Speed will come from experience. The bets I missed were stupid "rush" bets attempting to increase wins.
