Value of surrender

I forgot what surrender was worth but I notice alot of ls in Vegas.

I think there is an aspect to surrender that it levels out your ups and downs a little too does it not? It must give your a little lesser standard deviation.

I really love surrender and find it works real well for me.

I am looking at the area of Mandalay Bay with its 6d $15 s17,ds,ls,rsa and nearby

2. Luxor 2d $25 s17,ds,sc
3. Mirage 2d 25$ s17,ds,sc
4. Monte Carlo 6d $10 s17,ds,ls,rsa

The edge on those is .26,.19,.19,.26

Blackjack Attack has an article on this. The value to the card counter is amplified over that of a basic strategy, because high counts bring high bets, and more opportunities to surrender.

It ALSO reduces variance, which makes everything look better from a risk-adjusted perspective.

Late Sr, like Hit S17, helps the counter more than it does the BS player.

BJFB,Page 145: When the dealer Hits S17, this rule affects the BS player by .20% but when using the A02, it will ONLY cost you .16% because this rule has to do, with having less affect in positive counts.

BJFB,page 141:Sr
BS player 1D=.02%
BS player Infinite deck=.09%

To about a gain of .20% with variable betting w/the A02.

Don't believe everything you read in CBJN. I have never seen that game you mentioned at Mandalay Bay in several visits, just H17. I went to Monte Carlo and it was as bad or worse.

I just played the game at Mado, it's there on the $25 and up tables. Note it's the 6d shoe game with s17 and surrender, while the 2d game is h17 and no surrender.

Mando's lower limit tables may be h17, etc, but I really don't concern myself with the fleas :)
