Is there a "most common" good variety of VP? Full Pay 2's Wild has that magical +EV when played correctly, but how common is it? What should I be practicing if I want to play some VP in between table games?

It depends on which casino you'll be playing in. vpFREE2.com is one of many sites that will point out the best game in the casino you will be playing in.
A Jacks or Better 9/6 payout is the gold standard, but other games pay better with perfect play.

I would also keep an eye out for full pay All American Poker (8/8/8). And the oddball 2's wild 1/2/4/4/4/8/16/25/100/500(4000) Note the 100 for 2222... usually most AP's will skip these machines w/o realizing its 99.9%. Anyone with Bob Dancers Video Poker v.6.0.5 can check into it. I saw this payout in an old Sigma console machine at Foxwoods 50c. Bally's A.C. had at least a dozen, FW maybe 6 or 7.
