can someone get away with a 5-150 spread on six deck games in vegas, assuming your playing at one of the bigger casinos on the strip? if not, what spread can you comfortably get away with in vegas on the low minimum tables?

Sure, if you're good. Heat on the Strip will depend more on your max bet than on your spread.

Yes if you don't stay too long at the game. I would suggest about an hour at most. You won't find too many $5 games on the strip either, at least not during prime hours.

I'm going to say no, because I don't think you'll be able to find $5 games except at places which will be a little sweaty.

The places that won't care about $150 max bets will probably have $10-$15 minimum tables.

During a trip to vegas this last summer, I was scouting a pit looking for a good table. I watched two guys buy in for 2500 each. One of them looked like a complete dirt bag. One was dressed nice. They flat bet and were watching the cards like hawks.

When the count went positive or the cut card that they were looking at came out their bets jumped considerably. No heat whatsoever.

Was watching a table at another casino, jumped in with multiple spots at over 1 k each.. Won some coin and walked away.. No heat. We were there for a half an hour with a PB that liked to ask a lot of questions.

Try a $10 - $120 spread and I think you will be fine.
