War? Casinos vs Smart Video Poker Players

Ridiculous

It's sounds absolutely ridculous but if that article is out there and Ken Smith put it on the board then there must be some validity to it! Concerns over video poker players? That sounds just plain ol' nuts!

Maybe casinos need to be concerned about keeping or expanding their customer base instead of screwing with them and driving them off and then hoping to gouge a higher percentage out of what's left (which actually drives MORE off). Video poker players? Looking at people that take them up on offers and if they do mess with them about it? That's like having a Walmart greeter that blows snot on everyone coming in the door... you might lose a few customers along the way!

That's the best analogy I've seen in awhile. LOL.

It seems concentrated in Las Vegas. In a place where the casinos do not pay the judge's salary, they would know better than to frog-march a VP player for playing good games and using mailers. Just stop sending him the mailers! How is that any more difficult than staging a confrontation with security guards?

Of Course a Simian Would Not Understand

If the casino's don't have a chance to get security involved how do they expect to get the crud sued out of them!

Not new

Greektown casino did this a few years back, 86'd old ladies etc for their VP play. Of course the, Greektown went belly up a few months ago and now has new owners.

The machines that people were playing, full pay Pic em, were moved to their Sault casino and are still there, but see little action in the wilderness.

Turtle Creek also had killer 9/6 JOB machines with huge progressives that disapeared several months ago.

So I say slam em whenever you can, go for the Jugular, clamp those fangs in tight and don't let go until they are bled out.

Paranoia abounds

You have to shake your head at the garbage these casinos try to pull on patrons. Sit down at a vp machine and start rapid fire decisions for a long time and you'll draw a few suits standing by you sometimes. Even this sometimes bothers them because banging away rapidly away at vp machine shows some intelligence one thing they don't like either.

The best bleed em dry story I heard of regarding Video Poker had to do with a 100 dollar deuces wild machine being set to full pay. One particularly wealthy professional VP player found out about it real fast. Started on a nasty down swing, but kept on playing for days and days. Eventually took the casino for over 100k over a couple of weeks before they realized their mistake in setting the payout structure

Bleed em dry in general story was probably this Canadian college student that won 600k playing Keno. At first he claimed he used chaos theory to do it (cause he is awesome) then admitted he found the pattern in the RNG. Most RNG's use the millisecond as the seed to produce the random string of number, but this keno machine didn't have one. The fact that they turned it off every night at closing resulted in the same numbers being generated each day. This kid noticed it and won 23 out of 24 times in a row before they shut down the machine.
