What do you think of Red Seven Count by Arnold Snyder?

How does it compare to Hi Lo or KO?

I am trying to learn one (and hopefully only one) card counting system and I need something that will be effective against single and double decks, but especially against shoes, as that seems to be where all the casinos are heading anyway.

I've narrowed my choices down to Hi Lo, KO, or Red Seven Count.

I need the best all-purpose system that will not require a PhD in math. Not having to side count aces would be a plus.

Or should I just skip all this Level 1 stuff and just learn Hi Opt II?

Thanks for any assistance!!!!!

Red Seven

I've played all three counts.

I started with Red 7 playine against the monster 8 deck games at Foxwoods with mediocre penetration. Since Red 7 has a lower pivot than KO it is perfect for those types of games. I learned this thanks to the suggestion of Zengrifter back about 10 years ago.

When I started playing against SD, DD and 6 deck games I switched to HiLo since the a balanced count with one set of index numbers was easier with playing all types of games.

I later switched to KO when my wife started playing since she wasn't overly motivated and had enough trouble without the division of a true count. I also discovered it was easy enough to play for long periods of time and even drink at the table and maintain the running count.

The drinking helps with my wild jumps of 1 to 20 or 30 units in 2 deck games without getting booted.

Each system is about equal and is better in difference circumstances. You choose which fits your situation.

red 7, ko & hi/lo are great. i prefer hi/lo ......
the way i made my decision was that i studied up on all three and then thought about it. learning about each will help you better understand the fundamentals of what it is we are doing.

best regards,
