I recently purchased CVBJ and wonder what features you find most useful for practicing?
It's a really nice software, very customize-able, that will save you a lot of money in the long run.
I do a lot of
Flashcard drills. Do not use the "Default Hands" option, due to some glitch that Qfit may or may not have fixed by now, certain combinations never show up (A,8 vs. 6, for example). Instead, I suggest you use the "Mask" option, then set your Mask to include everything.
Another favorite of mine is
Full Table Drills - Running count. I prefer the 6 deck, starting hands, exact accuracy, 6 hands.
Since I am a great believer in balanced counts, I do a lot of
Discard Tray Drills - Decks left, too.
And, just like Sagefrog mentioned in his reply, I too check my count accuracy by filling up the table with computer generated players and seeing if my count was right or wrong.
Other recommendations:
- I strongly suggest you set up multiple users, because selecting a different casino will mess up a lot of your settings.
- You may want to select a softer sound for your error sound, the default buzzer can be annoying.
- You may want to check the charts once in a while to check out your progress. I also track my speed records on the drills when I manage 100% accuracy, using the Print - html icon.
