what is the best count for me?

Earlier I was having a lot of trouble with hilo, but over the last little while I have become a lot better at it. I still have trouble estimating the true count, and my knowledge of index plays is pretty minimal (I mostly stick with the easiest, 12v2/3 and insurance, although my insurance is very sketchy due to problems estimating the true count). I play a lot! On one hand, if I am putting in a lot of volume, I really want to increase my edge; on the other, since i play so much a simpler count might be easier for me? Then again, I've never cared much for easy :)

Should I put in the effort to learn zen? Also what is the index for insurance, is it +2 or +3 TC?

If you're having trouble estimating true count you may want to try using an unbalanced count such as KO or KISS. Or just train yourself specifically on deck estimation. Grab a few cards, estimate the number, check, repeat.

I was thinking about that earlier. There's no TC conversion in these systems? Does anyone here recommend KO? I have been reading about it in modern blackjack. Are there any another blackjack books online? I will buy some actual books soon (from this site, I promise! :p).

I think Casino Verite has a free software which allows you to practice your deck - I have difficulty estimating to half deck and I would like to know the penalty for calculating the TC using a whole number and not a half number.

Can someone elaborate please?
