El Cortez offers Sd and DD games. According to the Wizard of Odds, the SD has a 0.19 house edge and the DD has a .54 house edge. What factors besides this make the DD a better game.Would those factors effect me,a non-counter?
I posted this in another thread yesterday, but I think it got lost.

One factor could be penetration. If you get much better penetration on the double deck game it could be better than the single deck game, even though the house edge is lower on the single deck. This has no effect for a non-counter though. If you're not counting, go with the game that has the lowest house edge.

I was at the EC yesterday around noon and the SD was Rof6. On DD I had one dealer using the notch cut in the discard rack for about 63% pen and the other two dealers were cutting at about 50% pen. On SD there was noDAS, while on DD you could.

Sometimes dealers must be told: USE THE NOTCH!!" zg

lol, That would have been a good idea. It was my first time playing bj there. I was very nervous after all I had read about the heat there, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I had imagined. So how does a counter casually ask for deeper pen? How about this one?

"This isn't single deck is it? Why aren't you using that notch like the other dealer?"

There are a few dealers at a certain East Coast store that cut 8D down to LESS than 1 deck! I remember them and seek them out. Out here in the world of shoe, pen is pretty much all that makes a good game. Pen and work ethic.
