What's the HiLo index for LS 16 v 7?

Was playing last week and with TC = +10, I had a 16 v 7. Decided to surrender, even though I didn't know the index (knew 16 v 8 was +4). Got home and looked in Wong's Pro BJ and there is no Surr indices for dealer 7. I'm just curious now about the true index for the play. Anyone know it?

P.S. Next card was a 9 and dealer had a T in the hole, so I did the right thing, FWIW.

So I am assuming you don't use CVD...
Could not derive an index from CVD. It's just too high, I presume. Even RA.

From the canned strategies in CVD, "Old hilo" gives an index of 13. Personally, I ignore all indices above 8 or below - 6 or so...

It's +13. Also in the chart I'm reading 16 v 8 is +5 - but good you brought this up for me, I was vaguely remembering it as being high, around 6-8.

I have and use + 9 for surrender or stand.

diff. by 2 TC for 10+6 or 9+7 at 6 d to surr, i est.
i make it simple to surr at +10 to +11 with a glance of 789 on the table.
lesser 789 on table, i rather surr at +10.

is it for 9+7 to surr at +13, no book on hand ?
if play head up or just 1 other player, i prefer to surr. at a bit lower index in order to save the card.....
card=money at that time n place.

4d,
10+6 stand at +9 to +13, surr>+13
9+7 surr > +10
hope can clarify

Curious

I am a HIOPT II player with ace side count. So far only using the ace side count for betting. Still learning as I upgraded from HIOPT I earlier this year. There is no surrender index for this play for me. Usually HILO is somewhat wanting when it comes to playing efficiency but this is a hand decision taylor made for HILO. Ten or ace as the dealer downcard and you are in really bad shape at high TC. I guess when I start learning ace side adjustments for playing decisions this will be one of them. Happy hunting fellas. May the variance be with you.

That doesn't necessarily make it the right play. I believe at a TC of 9, the dealer still has a >25% chance of busting so the correct play is to stand, not surrender.

I didn't say it was the right play. I didn't know if it was the right play or not, hence my question. What I meant was it worked out for me in this instance and wondered what the correct index is.

On an example index 18vs10 stay/sur= 22.6 TC
i just run a sim at TC 22.3 by CV data, hi lo,
EV of 18 vs 10 / 8d = -0.496
a bit surprise as i guess perhaps will never surr.
though it may occur once in a blue moon.
Grama, u r right n thks 2 alert me.
