Where do we go now

I am getting back into the game after a vacation for marriage and having a child. If I establish some good records for say 100 hours of play I may try and make a trip to a place with better minimums than colorados 5 dollar tables.

Where would you go if you only had 1000 to bankroll you for a couple days.

1. Reno

3. New Mex
4. South Dakota
5. Other

Reno is pretty darn cheap, and you could probably fit in a "polite" 4-5x spread at some $5 or less single deck games. Plus, you get to play cards at a truck stop.

I would say Reno/Sparks and Wendover are good spots for you. They are both pretty cheap and you can find plenty of single-deck games. That might be the easiest way to build a bankroll.

Laughlin, nevada should be on any lo-rollers list. Cheap rooms, cheap eats, good games as long as they don't think you are counting.

I thought Laughlin had bad rules last time I was there.

I dont know if it was me but in SD they shut down the only 2 deck game in town while I was there last time.

Whoa, Shad... there aren't many playable games in Laughlin. CBJN indicates maybe 3. zg

Really?
Which three? In September, there was one very good DD game at Harrahs, decent SD at The Pioneer,an okay DD at Tropicana Express and I was told the games at Atlantis were better than the old Flamingo.
I did see bad games at the Edgewater and Colorado Belle, and the majority of Harrahs games sucked.Riverside's website indicates a good SD game, unless they've cut down on penetration.

To me,the free rooms and cheap meals compensate for less than perfect games. Overall,I think its a very good value. I'll be there the weekend of 12-15 as harrahs gives me free weekends there, but not on the strip.

I have never played in South Dakota. New Mexico is not worth the trip. Games are not that great and you would spend a lot of downtime driving from casino to casino. I have only played in the Albuquerque area. According to CBJN Santa Fe is not that much better than Albuquerque.
If your driving you could hit up Wendover on your way to Reno on the same trip if you have time.

I found the best game at Colorado Belle. They had DD with all the good rules while I was there in August. It was $5 min on Tuesday midday. When I returned on Thursday the min had already been raised for the weekend. I played the $5 game for a little while. I cruised some of the other places and by Thursday had been everywhere and new the best game I'd seen was the Belle. That's why I returned. I was dissapointed to find the min was raised.

perhaps im misunderstanding, but you want lower minimums than $5? do you really think you will have much of a choice with the small amount of $2 and $3 tables in this country? $5 can be hard to find, and im pretty sure $2 and $3 tables are quite rare, but of course there will be somebody claiming they are EVERYWHERE just to spite me.. i can tell you this, none of the 7 casinos in the chicagoland area have $5 tables, and half dont even have $10 tables
