Ok, I've asked people to tell me which book I should get first to read on BJ, I've had many suggestions made but can't make up my mind. I want to get one first cause I can only read one at a time and I want to see if I really want to put the forth effort in becoming more knowledgeable in the subject. I'd def need a begginers book. So pls help me out. Thx.

If you have access to a library, I'd start with all the books on blackjack that they have. It's free.

I suggest you first book to be Play Blackjack Like the Pros by Kevin Blackwood. This book is excellant for a begginer, it is very well written and explains in detail from basic strategy to several different counting systems.
This book as well as several other reccommended reading are avialable here on this site under books & software. The only caution is there are a lot of junk books out there that promote systems and strategy that will only make the casino's money, all books on this site have been reviewed and are recommended by our site adminiastrator.

if i had the luxury of starting all over again the very first blackjack book i would have wanted to start with would have been John May's Get the Edge in Blackjack. the reason being is that the book gives such a consise overview of the world of advantage play. i believe the book is excellent for beginners and experts alike.
but i have to agree with Canceler in that the library could be an excellent option for you.

The first book I read was the only book on Blackjack my library had, and it was not great, but it did teach me basic strategy.

Then I read some Avery Cardoza books, and those were kind of a waste of time cause all he does is repeat the same thing over and over.

But the 2 books I would definitely recommend are:

1) "Play Blackjack like the Pros" - Kevin Blackwood

and

2) "Blackbelt in Blackjack" - Arnold Snyder

both these books are heavily into counting so if your not into that, these books are good but youd have to skip alot.
