Which Strategy should i play??

Hello all. I am a newbie here and a newbie to 21. I finally got blackjack bluebook II by Fred Renzy. I actually just finished the WHOLE book. A book I recommend to everybody interested in card counting. Anyways.. im going to vegas in a few weeks and want to try just the KISS 1 method. I'm already getting basic strategy down so im going to start counting. The questions I have is must i keep count of all cards while i start deviating play?? for example.. at the end of a certain hand.. the count is X.. i play the strategy called for pertaining to the count.. now do i keep counting even while i play? Also, is $100 enough to start building a bank roll.. or should i use more?? I dont want to win for profits right now.. I want to win to build a bankroll and then in time advance to actually play for profits.. what do you think.. am i in over my head?? some suggestions would really help.. thanks..

LOL.. i actually did read that part over and figured out that I gotta keep count.. i though soo... now the bank roll part.. i think i just got to have lady luck on my side huh? well if thats the case.. would anyone happen to know the table rules at treasure island.. or where $5 min. tables are at??

A $100 BR doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell. I strongly recommend you scan this forum for a few months, re-read Renzey's book a few more times and perhaps several more top authers. While doing this you will both have learned more about BR requirements and have had the chance to build up you funds to resemble a functional level.
At that point of time you should understand exactly what I am talking about.

The warnings are well-founded. If you are intent on going to casino instead of more practice at home/on line/&building more bank, then the amount you plan to 'invest' at this time should be seen as something you expect to lose as a learning expense. Don't doubt this for a second; if you get lucky and come out ahead on this trip, it will only give you a false sense of security.

If you can afford to learn at the tables, then go ahead and play, but it'll be gambling.

Good luck.

Use your $100 for CVBJ v4.2

You'll be ready for the NEXT time you go to Vegas.
A few weeks learning/practice and $100 is negligible,
but you might win something by luck.

Regular practice using CVBJ will be much better for
you in the long run. Take some time to raise a decent BR.

$ 100 BR will be fine,if you only play $1-$2 BJ. They have it at Slots of Fun,a ten minute walk north of you at TI,and in the afternoon at Ellis Island,an equal walk to the east. If you play $5 BJ,you will be very underfunded.
I assume you are going to Vegas for reasons other than just to play BJ.
If so,spend your $100 in the places that have $2 or less BJ,and you'll be okay.
It does sound like you need more work, but don't get discouraged. Winning at a $2 table is just as much fun as winning at a $10 table.

thanks to all the responses.. I thought i might've got responses like that.. so i guess i will practice till i build an effective bankroll and hopefully get lucky using basic strategy. by the way.. what is a good way of memorizing the BS chart??

play the longhorn on boulder highway. $2 mins. good rules, including double on any first 3 cards! super fun game. bad pen. do not ramp bets there, your aim should be to play PERFECT or near PERFECT basic strategy. you will not be able to count and play BS on your first trip out. BS is more important that counting. if you can't do the former, you stand no chance of winning at the latter. Take your $100 and have fun with it. buyin for $30-$40 and play for 1-2 hours or until it is gone. if you lose it quick, pack up your bags, go do something else, don't be discouraged, and play at a different casino later.

The way I learned it was by substituting numbers for Yankees,my favorite team. When it came to doubling down,I'd remember Nettles to Ruth to Mantle-DD on 9( Nettles) vs 3(Ruth thru Mantle(7).
You are allowed to bring a BS chart to the table and consult it at will.
