If you had the choice between these two things for Sunday, which would you do?

A. Watch your favorite football team play
B. Go enjoy 70 degree weather at Atlantic City and hopefully make a few bucks.

I chose A. I am sure I am in the minority, but am a diehard fan of my local pro team. In addition to having season tickets for all home games, we attend 4 of the 8 away games and any and all playoff games.

Additionally I generally try to avoid AC on weekends, opting more for the smaller weekday crowds. I am guessing that after 4 days of rain, sunday's sunny 70 degrees with bring the throngs.

A.
You can hit a casino any day, you have precious few Sundays to enjoy your football team, especially if you are a Jet fan.

Yes it has to be AC and yes your team is losing at least in the standings ;) You can go to the casino any time during the year but how often would the weather be this nice assuming you live in a place that is usually cold at this time of the year.

Why not do both? You won't be able to go very far without seeing a screen with the game on it in AC. I watched much of the Yankee postseason sitting at a blackjack table. (It's also great cover if you can watch a game and count at the same time.)

as did I. ill take football over blackjack any day! particularly in AC when the wekend crowds would make conditions bad anyway. if i am in vegas i do a mix of both. in some places the sports book is across from some tables. why not watch and wong

kewlj,

Had the opportunity to enjoy some beautiful SD weather at Qualcomm on Sunday . . . too bad our team didn't bother to show up (at least until late in the fourth)!! :whip: Oh well, at least I made a few bucks at the local stores

. . . would also prefer watching the game, especially if it's against a divisional rival!

We didn't make this trip. Going to Chicago next week and didn't want to make back to back road trips. The way the game turned out...glad I didn't. Of course the game aside, SD is a beautiful and fun location to visit. Hope you had fun dispite the birds performance.

Since you are so modest, to OP, it's more like this in my mind.

KewlJ don't play based on the temperature, despite his name. The reason he can choose A is becasue he does B often enough so he can do A.

He has arranged his hrs/wk and EV/wk throughout the year, versus his risk, so he can do whatever the heck he wants on Sundays from Sep thru Jan.

Unfortunately for everyone else, he is probably right in assuming that he is in the minority since when and how often he chooses to play over the course of a year makes so much sense.

What - u think he wakes up on Sun morning and asks himself what he should do becasue it's a really nice day?

Good Lord man - if you want to watch, attend football on Sundays, play accordingly Mon thru Sat and Sundays from Feb to Aug. In all kinds of temperatures.

Or, go completely crazy and, who knows, since the weather happens to be so unexpectedly nice when you wake up Sun morning, and you don't actually happen to have tickets, throw a tape in your VCR or do the DVR Tivo thing, and go to AC taking full advantage of the weather-effect on your EV and watch the game when you get back. Best of both worlds.

Well I don't know about all that, Kasi, but I do try to parallel the tradition work week schedule, leaving weekend free to enjoy other aspects of life. Part of that stems from the fact that I don't care for the crowds that AC draws on weekend, although much smaller than they used to be, it is still hard to find $25 tables with fewer than 4 people playing. Much prefer to opt for the weekdays when I can play heads up at $25 tables or with one or at most two other players. Many more hands per hour.

I am also wondering what is so magical about this 70 degree number, that we should run to the casino. Isn't it always 70 degrees inside the casino??

Well I don't know about all that,...
If you say so lol.

Hey, these slot machines and virtual BJ tables in PA, first time I've seen it, probably old hat to most of you, actually have this really tiny TV set built-in to the console. So one can watch TV at one's table/machine while playing.

It's like this really cool 1.5 inch Black-and-White TV built-in big enough so you know it's a TV but yet small enough so you can't really see what the hell is going on anyway.

I don't know, it may actually be in Color. It was so small, I'd just turn my head and look at the TV set in the bar 30 yards away sio I could see what happened lmao.

All I know is Pitt scored a TD and everyone with their card in a machine got $5 of free slot play. And while the game was on, 16 ounce beers ("pounders) were 99 cents. Hot dogs for 99 cents too.

So, 4 beers and a dog for $5. $5 free slot play yielded $5. A $1 min double-zero roulette video machine that succumbed to Oscar's Griind 21 times in a row with an orig 100 unit buy-in.

So, buzzed on beer, but not hungry, watching football I couldn't really see, I arrive home hours later, after free-parking, $21 richer than I began lmao.

You're doing it - I just have fun with doing whatever in my own tortured way lol.

But, hats off to you. Mine anyway.

So where is this? I take it one of the Pittsburgh area locations with a promotion like that. We still do not have any locations in philadelphia. Philadelphia Park is probably closest just outside the city boundry but a good half hour north of center city. Chester is a half hour south of center city. I made One visit earlier this year just to check out those virtual BJ machines. The ones where each player has their own shoe. They are suppossed to have a 4/6 penetration, but I see know way to tell when the shuffle happens, thus making it uncountable (at least as far as I can tell).

As for actual Table games, the revenue from such is included in the 2010 budget passed last month, but to date, no law has been passed changing the law allowing such. State lawmakers just returned to harrisburg after being out of session for the last month. They say a bill is coming by end of year and table games will be up and running sometime summer/early fall. I'll beleive it when I see it for one and number two, you can bank it that the BJ playing rules won't be favorable since the state's cut depends on the "hold". Probably H17 with CSM's :(
