Why are casino games restricted to card games?

Why are casinos restricted to card games and slot machines for the most part instead of allowing other games. Like wouldn't it be cool if we could play monopoly against other players for money and say every time you land on luxury tax or have to pay to get out of jail and etc, that would be considered the rake for the casino.

There are lots of other games besides card games. Ex: Craps, Roulette, Pai Gow, Big Six, Keno, Bingo, Sports Betting, etc.

Yeah but how many of them are skill based? Sportsbetting is but that isn't participatory. You could argue that Craps is but honestly, the number of people who can successfully manipulate the dice to land on what they want is incredibly small.

All of them to some degree. :) You can't always beat the house edge but you can either minimize it or make a profit from the game with the proper skills.

Because the casinos don't want people with brains showing up. Imagine chess or Scrabble players in a casino, from their perspective.

Those games don't really lend themselves to a bikini pit either...but can you imagine?

Let's not get carried away here Sonny - have you ever hung around with the chess crowd? Would you want to see them getting naughty?

Most other games also take too long to be of value. Who wants to sit down and play Monopoly for 3 hours, only to win (or lose) a few bucks?

Long-lasting strategy games don't feed addiction.
