Why not splitting 4's

Hi,

why shouldn't 4s be splitted according to the BS?

I'm just wondering why. Does anyone has a good explanation or something with math to explain it?

Thank you!

If the game allows DAS, then you DO split them against a dealer 5 and 6.

After a Split?
If you're asking about DAS, it means double after split. So if you are allowed to double after split, it is basic strategy to split 4's against a dealer 5 and 6.

Well ok, that's a good statement. I will use the BS generator from here and see what else is different.

There are three main rules which will alter basic strategy.

1. Number of decks
2. Hit soft 17 or stand on soft 17
3. DAS or NDAS

Plus Surrender will also require basic changes.
