How do I choose a correct basic strategy chart? There seems to be a minor difference of opinion from one book to another.

Different playing rules will effect a few basic strategy plays, single / multi-deck for example. For the newby the "rule of thumb" is to first learn basic strategy for the common game at your favorite casino, or simply a six-deck shoe game. When you have mastered this, learning the few alterations to basic strategy for another set of rules is a breeze. Please note, even if you play basic strategy for a six-deck at a two deck game you are giving up very little to the house. ZG is correct the basic strategy generator on this site will give you the correct BS for any set of rules.

Both Zen & Tenn have good advice.

i play 6D games about 95% of the time, so for me learning multiple BS charts is a waste of time. While reading "KO Blackjack" the authors only include 1 BS chart for ALL games. there are a few varriations for different rules, but these more subtle changes have a very very small effect on your odds as Tenn pointed out.
