Kot's life on video
If Magee ever watches Ray's video, hmm... I wonder if he will ever regret for taking Kot away from his beloved wife and son? BTW, as one author sez, gambling is madness...betting our brain cells away...losing not only our money but also our minds... just like Magee. Rest in peace, Kot...even though you once had ordered some counter-measures against me in the game of blackjack, (i.e., restricted me at a $100 per round), and I understood that you were just doing your job to protect your employer's bottom line.

This may sound harsh, but I feel as bad about this guy as casino managers feel when one of their patrons commits suicide due to losses. They intentionally market to compulsive gamblers, they intentionally create delusions about being able to win, now when the chickens come home to roost they expect everybody to feel sorry for them? Kot may have been a good guy but by working in the industry he chose, he made a deal with the devil.

I've had people at the BJ table blame me for their losses and threaten me. If one of them kills me some day is the AC Press going to run stories about what a great guy I was and a good AP too? Of course not, it will make the papers as a feud between two degenerate gamblers and that's that. Magee probably walked right past me the night before his act.

security breach

Life and death are two things we deal with and taxes is another. My big concern was how did this guy follow a pit boss into a back room without a security guard alerted. This lapse in security measures kinda makes you wonder just how secure you really are in your store.
Don't get me wrong I read and hear the stories about patrons getting killed in Vegas and other casino locations but it seriously makes you wonder. I have in the past turned another gambler in because he was carrying a knife on his hip but got past doofus guard at the door.
I have been in casinos where they have sweep you with a wand for metal objects just to make sure. I have had a few morons myself get unnerved at some plays to a point but they never really threatened me. blackchipjim

Holy Crap!

I recognize that guy... the pit guy. Very tragic, very stupid--- The weird thing about it? The guy that shot him was a roulette player. This is a game with a 5 1/2% house advantage (I think), so there is no way you can ever expect to win at this game in the long run unless you are crazy stupid lucky!! The casino doesn't HAVE to cheat to whack you for all it's worth at this game; They are going to beat you silly fair and square.

There must have been some strange psychosis on the part of the shooter, some sort of quiet, closet mental case with a slow fuse that eventually led to him finally going postal.

Automonkey, you are right and if some whacko goes jiggy on you at the casino they would portray it as two degenerate gamblers but at least we could do a lovely little memorial thing for you here on BJINFO that would be more dignified than what the newspapers would say.
