Wong Time

I tried to only wong in for several months last year - I was looking for at least TC3 with a less than full table - I was lucky to be able to get into 1,2 or MAYBE 3 shoes in a 2 hour period.

For those of you who regularly (WONG IN), assuming there's no heat, how much time you spend watching vs playing?

When you give up watching and consider the table hopeless?

TC of +3 is extremely high. That would be for a short bankroll, or a flat bettor. +1 is standard, and +2 is fairly conservative. You should generally leave any shoe if it hits -1 TC, but you may stick around at the end of a shoe, or leave after with a slightly negative count on the first round out of a shoe.

More talk about Wonging

Could a male/female two person team pull off a good two person Wong in hand?

You send your wife, girlfriend or daughter (Or all three hee hee) off to the buffet or nickel video poker. Something low stakes they couldn't lose more than two bucks an hour at

You? Flat bet the min at six deck shoe. Cheapest table in the house. The five dollar minimum if possible. Make some signal when the TC goes above two. Woman comes back to the table.

Say: "Why don't you try and bring some luck to this table dear" Signal to drop a hundred.

"Boy this table could REALLY use some luck" Signal for her to put two hundred at your spot.

etc.

A woman always makes a man look less suspicious.

+3 is indeed very high, and let me give you an idea of how much you will be watching vs playing.. if you wong in at ANYTHING positive and wong out at ANYTHING negative, in a 6 deck game you will be playing 40-45% of the time, so if you want to play more than 50% of the time, you will have to play a little bit in the negative.. see, i dont spread, as i dont have that much money, so by playing only positive run counts i am playing with roughly a .3% advantage, and once i get cvcx or cvdata, i will get an exact number, but it should still be in the +.1-.5% range.. i would like to know how you are spreading, because if you are spreading, you definitely are wasting your time with +3, and you should actually be playing anything over -1, if not -2.. a flat out guess would say you are playing less than 10% of the time with +3.. also, are you wonging in at +3 and never wonging out, or are you playing only when its +3 or more? i guess it wouldnt really matter because most of the time you will be near the cut card when its +3 anyways

But a woman, especially a wife accompanying her husband at the table, betting $100 is to me an unusual event. At least, I've never seen it. The wife is usually betting ultraconservative, and quitting quickly if it doesn't go her way for long. I'm not stereotyping, just reporting what I've seen.

I love your thought process! In fact, two of the most talented counters I know are woman.

Yet, I think using everyone in every role is more beneficial to the Bottom-line. Spotter BP Gorilla etc. Using other techniques are great to; only if mastered.

Something as simple as what you have explained works quite well.

To increase EV, you could back count and call everyone into a positive situation. Whatever the situation dictates. Just bet according to the advantage with the combined BR.

Team play has been profitable to many. Grinding out 50-100 an hour going solo is tedious.

Good Luck!
