My statement about suspicion of non-Bashers refers to a healthy dose of skepticism about anyone I meet on the net, and that should be a general principle we all follow. That is until such time you should ever get to meet them in person..............such as very recently when 3 Bashers and a couple other very well known posters were in your area and wanted to meet up with you to say hi, you would not even reply. While I respect your right to do so it would have been nice if you had, and could have put some suspicion aside.

Auto Monkey has never attended a Bash but I know from some Bashers that have meet him that he is indeed the real thing, same for Pelerus, Assum_r, so my acceptance goes beyond just those who have attended Bashes, but it was based on the word of Bashers.

One can be anyone they desire on the net, I just will not allow myself to be taken in by a virtual phony, nor should anyone else.

Just for the record KJ one of the most famous and skilled Pro's living today was to attend the last Bash until it was rescheduled and he could not make the new date.

The BASH has never been about me, and that has never been my desire, but all about those who attend and the positive things I want to see that develop from the event, which has been bountiful to say the least.

I don't feel the need to answer to nor prove myself to you. If I decide to meet with someone, whether it is blackjack related or another matter, it is because I find value in doing so that will benefit myself, not to put aside some suspicion that you may have. That seems to be your issue, not mine.

I am not sure of the exact request that you are refering to. I did receive an invite to meet with a member recently but declined as we were not going to be in the same location at the same time. He made no mention of a group meeting or I probably would have declined on that merit. Seems you are now keeping track of who I meet with, which seems a little creepy to me, panther.

BTW, that was a group of well known posters in Conn. that wanted to meet you, you declined without comment. It was an attempt on my, their, part to again include you into some AP activities.

When I'm in Vegas and I run into another AP at a table, I'll leave. Why in the world would I want to travel to a place where I have no comps, know no dealers or pit bosses, don't know the comp situation or promos to play with a bunch of APs?
If some folks feel the expense of trucking out to the middle of no where to meet a few other APs is worth their time and money, good for them. I have better things to do with mine and if that means I don't get the Creepy seal of approval, so be it. If anyone wants to think I'm a fraud or a phony, based on not attending some minor function, so be it. You want to pretend this bash is the best thing since sliced beer, go right ahead.

I can't speak for KJ, but that is certainly a concern for me. If I were to be recognized in a casino by a fellow AP it could cause me a lot of trouble. And with the number of trip reports I see posted here, and the amount of specific info in them, even playing with another AP (or a group of them) could quickly expose my identity to other APs and casino employees. A serious player needs to be very careful about what kind of exposure he is getting. It's all about getting information without giving any up. That's how you beat the games and stay ahead of the casinos. Once people start to recognize you (either APs or Bosses), your days are numbered and your games are at risk. I applaud KJ for his careful approach. It is a sign of a smart person and serious player.

The trip reports posted here are tame in comparison to another site.

Sonny the fact is unless you are a very skilled ST'er, you will be recognized in short order by the casino,,,just play enough, I will spot you in half and hour, even if you are tracking.

So, by your statement above do you feel that all those who attended the Bash or GC parties are not smart or serious players? I do know that you, Sonny, have not only associated with other AP's but have also played with them,,,so does that mean you are not a smart or serious player?

I would never expect a full time pro to attend the Bash or other get togethers if they decided not to, but on the other hand don't expect me to believe what one is posting, claiming, when he, she, is a complete unknown outside of cyberspace. I care not to be made a fool of by scammers.

So skilled shuffle trackers are the only people who won't be recognized? That sounds like a very narrow opinion. Are there no pro players who use other strategies or play other games?

Your narrow interpritation is the cause of your faulty conclusion. As I said, a serious player needs to be very careful about what kind of exposure he is getting. The BJ parties are fine for some people and suicide for others. A smart player will know if he is getting back enough information to make his exposure worthwhile. I have even attended a few parties when the incentives were good enough (at the time). I cast no judgements on anyone who attends such parties. I only hope that they understand the risks as well as the rewards.

Again, a very narrow interpritation. There is a big difference between being unknown to members of this website and being unknown to all serious players. This website is but a tiny subset of all serious players. Many of them don't visit any of the public AP websites at all.

I cannot make any claims about KJ one way or the other, nor do I care to. I am simply supporting some of the ideas that he expresses since I can relate to some of them. People are free to agree or disagree, but there is no reason to include accusations or insults.

Sonny, it is nice to see that you make no claims as to KJ one way or the other.

I would suggest that as a moderator of this site maybe the two of you, that is KJ and you, meet during one of your Vegas trips, it seems you would hit it off as you both have some of the same things in common. I personnaly would take it as an honor to meet you over lunch at the first opportunity

Also, above I speak of BJ play, not 3cp, craps, slots, I am not sure of what you are referring to.

I will say that I know you are a "real deal" because a well known pro, who posts very little vouched for you from first hand knowledge and observation. I have no such information on KJ so again, excuse my healthy case of suspicion. It is not meant to be accusations or insults, but a cross examination that KJ usually initiates, and I am more than happy to oblige.:laugh:

Had someone contacted me prior to my conneticut trip last month, I probably would not have been to keen on meeting them at that location. I was only there 16 hours and had real concerns about the number of players converging at that location for that promotion. However, the point is completely moot, because no one contacted me requesting such a meeting. So you are either misinformed or just plain full of bullshit.

Late last year at a gathering of members from another site in Las Vegas, I met a handful of players and at least two of them occasionally post here as well. If they wish to speak up thats fine, but am not going to violate them, nor dignify you by naming names as it is none of your business. As much as you would like, I am not on trial here, nor wish to pass your initiation rites to gain entry into your little fraternity you goofy ego maniac.

I play blackjack for a living! Not as a hobby or a side gig. It is my sole source of income. So while, I may not be some well known AP that the casinos fear, I do everything in my power to keep it that way.

While you may find the anonymity of the internet and this site to your disliking, I have choosen to participate on this site and share information and experiences mostly because of the anonymity of it. The benefits of doing so have been diminishing to me for quite sometime, mostly because of you, and I am growing tired of the effort, so I give up. You win! Who the heck cares what your suspicions are? And what the heck is to be gained by dispelling your suspicions?

The larger the Bash grows, the more averse a full-time or wannabe full-time player should be to attending it for obvious reasons. I am much more in favor of meeting with individuals on a one-on-one or very small group basis.

I personally believe a knowledgeable counter/casino employee could easily attend a Bash without the slightest chance of detection. So these remarks about virtual phonies seems ludicrous to me on the face of it. I certainly hope you don't think that seeing someone in person or seeing his skill at play makes him the real thing. That kind of thinking may come back to bite you.

Take my advice, no offense intended, but you are pushing the Bash too much. There has been so much talk about the Bash and what goes on there that I for one have misgivings about you or anyone else having a great deal of information about me and what might be done with that information in the future either inadvertently or otherwise. I certainly already know my strengths and weaknesses at card counting and other advantage play, and have no need to obtain a certificate of accomplishment or failure in that regard. I am sure I am much harder on myself than any of you might be (on me). The person that matters most to me in whether I am the real thing or not is myself and no one else.

You don't seem to lack in analytical skills, so you should realize you can listen to the information posted here on the Forum from many sources, including those that are already verified, and draw some pretty good conclusions on where the real truth lies. There is wisdom in many counsels, and even if A or B is a virtual phony, if his or her remarks line up with others, especially those who are known to be genuine (without the need for Bash credentials), I have no problem with that.

To me, meeting in person as a group adds little or nothing to what I have found here, in books and through individual encounters. It's primary appeal to me are the friendships that may be made. But for the time being, I'll stick to the one-on-one or very small group basis. It suits me personally better. I don't believe that one size fits all nor should anyone be pushing the idea that it does, or if they do, I don't think I want to subject myself to such narrow-mindedness.
