I apologize, I thought you may be getting bad advice from someone trying to convince you that it is possible to consistently win at BJ without counting. I have noticed from your posts that you are trying to get a very good handle on the game before you start playing. Just didn't want you to go out there with incorrect info. It's a tough enough game to win even with the right information.
countryboy,

No harm done. I probably was a little confusing at first as I didn't state that what he did. IN the same post I mentioned the a dealer I talked to in Vegas who said "counting is overrated." I probably didn't word it very well looking back now. So I probably confused the two different people.

The dealer is also wrong though. But boy, was he convincing when I talked to him. He's worked at the Bellagio/Mirage for 18 years and he's telling me that.

Yeah, I am sure this family friend is wrong. Do cut him a break though, he is 70 and very old school. Now that sounds ironic doesn't it. Old school, yet trying a new play. But he really is old school. Very smart guy though. He paid for his first house playing craps in 1956.

He's NOT very smart when it comes to BJ - he's STUPID. As for buying a house with craps - people have bought homes with keno and lottery winnings, and those games have a 50% housEdge! Means nothing. zg

Oh yes, it does mean something. He wasn't just another visitor to Vegas with dumb luck. Whatever he did, I'm sure it was thought out. Keep in mind, this was 1956. He has never worked a real job in his life and he's a millionaire. He's sailed around the world, built his own boats from scratch, etc. He played all BS exactly how you're supposed to play it up until this year. It is simply something new he is trying each time he goes to Foxwoods. This guy is one of those rare people you meet in life, very interesting character. Did everything in life HIS way.
