I said in another thread that I would update about any heat regarding setting the dice in after my trip to Las vegas. There was a post that a member mentioned that some of the casinos were NOT letting players set the dice but later it was said that if you didn't hit the back wall then they may take the dice away from you (the shooter).

OK, first off, I played Harrahs and MGM properties, 0000 heat on setting dice, I hit the wall 95% of time, I can set the dice in less than 2 seconds, so if you sit there and play with the dice maybe it would be different. I had a profitable trip, hit a 40 plus roll at one casino and hit a 5 point fire bet at another. I believe that yes you can get an edge off setting dice, but I also believe that over 90% of the people trying to do it are NOT good enough to get an edge. You need to practice and practice and practice. Cheff JJ is your expert on here for that.

Now a little something, I was on fire with the dice, had people following me around at one casino. What I like to do is switch tables when the table I'm on fills up, thus limiting time between my rolls and betting on random shooters. I had a fellow betting alot of money on my rolls and the pits at one casino started taking notice that he was betting the farm on me when I got the dice. This may sound bad, but for the longevity of me playing at my favorite casino I purposely set the dice on the 7 set so he had a greater chance of losing. I think most of you here know why I would do that.

is this the first time u did a dice setting trip? i think ill only believe i have an edge if u can see it on a consistant basis , could be first time lucj

No, I've been doing it for over 2 years, I've also played craps for 20+ years so I understand the game better than most. Don't get your hopes up too high, thats all I have to say.

whats ur opinion on dice setting? work ? yes , no , maybe , sometimes

i don't have my hopes high at all lol , if it doesn't work for me it doesn't work

i agree with this method, as it is the same one i used when starting out. I used 2 different color dice and kept track of the results of each die with, using the same set each time. I did this thousands of times and recorded the results with a website called toss track, which is a site you can record results with and it will give you the % if each number rolled.

your dice should be thrown at a 45 degree angle or as close to it as possible reguardless of table softness. What to do is toy around with what works best for you because all tables are different. One bouncy table may still play different then a different bouncy table. Its hard to say what to do for each table you have to get a feel for the differences and adjust. The only way to do that is practice alot and try different tables. I know a few tricks as how to judge, one is when u pick up the dice push ur finger tips into the felt and kind of mesure with your eye on your finger nail where the felt squishs to, this will give you a good scale to work with after hitting a few different tables.
